When an insurance comp ask for a releast for medical records what are those records limited to

Whatever is specified in the release. If you want to limit the release to the records pertaining to your comp injury, you should spell that out in the release. If there is no specification or limitation, the provider will probably send your entire chart. Of course, if there is an issue of a pre-existing condition, the carrier probably wants to see any pre-accident records relating to treatment of that area.
