Sir, please resubmit your question with more facts. I'm unsure who "the rehab people" are and why someone involved in your rehab would have any authority to tell you how and when to get a job. My advice would be to hire a Maryland workers compensation attorney (if that's what this issue is about) to discuss your options and represent you if need be. Under no circumstance would I take any action that would affect your union retirement, especially if you are counting on that money to survive, without first consulting an attorney.
Best of luck.*******The above is for informational purposes only and does not create an attorney-client privilege.*******
Good Afternoon:
Did your injury occur in Maryland or Washington, DC? Either way you should contact an experienced attorney to discuss your claim. From the limited information provided it seems as if you participating in vocational rehabilitation. In Maryland, if an injured worker is unable to return to his or her previous line of work, the worker is entitled to vocational rehabilitation services.
Please keep in mind that there is not an attorney's fee until there is a settlement or award in your favor. An experienced worker's compensation attorney may get you a
larger settlement than if you had decided to represent yourself.
Please contact our office to schedule an appointment to discuss your rights.
