Legal Question in Workers Comp in Maryland

Resignation Letter

I have expressed to my employer that I wish to leave the company. However I do not have another job yet and would like to stay there until I find one. My boss wants a resignation letter to be effective March 21, 2008. Should I submit a letter without a new job?
