Legal Question in Workers Comp in Maryland

Time limit on workers comp decision

I had a workers compensation hearing on March 28, 2003. As of this date, May 12, 2003, I have not received a decision. Is there a time frame in which the Commissioner has to render a decision? Is there any options I have to push this along? I know a few people who have had hearings and they had their decision within 10 days. What possible reason could there be to take so long? Can the insurance carrier request the decision be held up or withheld?

Re: Time limit on workers comp decision

Possibly it's a complicated issue, there's a lot of documents for the commissioner to go through, or he/she's just backed up in the workload. There's no specific timetable for rendering a decision and the insurance company can't hold it up.
