Worker compensation law applicability to sole proprietorship

Please indicate if the State of Maryland requires a sole proprietor - i.e. one person with no employees to - to carry workers' compensation insurance.

A sole proprietorship without employees is not required to maintain workers' compensation coverage. If you have adequate hospitalization coverage and aren't in a dangerous occupation, you can probably get by without it.
