Workmen's Compensation for Resident Manager

My mother was working as a Resident Manager at an apartment complex. She was on-call 24 hours a day, seven days a week, except when on scheduled vacation. She had a stroke in her apartment in May. Is she eligible for workmen's compensation?

Re: Workmen's Compensation for Resident Manager

Unless the stroke was related to the performance of her duties, she is probably not covered. The fact that she may have been "on call" does not mean she was engaged in her employment when she experienced the stroke. She can discuss it with her physician, but unless he/she is prepared to make a connection between the stroke and her job, she won't get coverage.
