The charge of minor in possession of alcohol, if convicted you will receive a fine or $50 for a first offense. Also a conviction will result in a 90 day driver's license suspension.
if the plea deal is for a continuance without a finding (CWOF), one can avoid the 90 suspension.
While the fines and license suspension dont appear to be harsh penalties, the criminal record showing the charge can be hurtfull to future opportunities, so it is worth retaining an attorney.
