Legal Question in Employment Law in Massachusetts

My Massachusetts employer made mistake in may pay check, and underpaid me. The missing pay is causing me a financial detriment. They are making me wait until the next pay period to reimburse me for this time. Is this legal, or can they be they required to issue me the payment now. Do I have any recourse?
