Is there any way i can avoid testifying on the stand in someone else's trial (i.e. Saying ''no'' to the oath,ect.,ect.)?

The general rule is if called to testify you must, however if you are going to incriminate yourself in a criminal trial you can claim protection under the Fifth Amendment. There are other small exceptions, however they are very limited and very fact specific. Is the case you refer to civil or criminal?
