Legal Question in Employment Law in Massachusetts

I know someone who works as a dishwasher at a restaurant. They work over 8 hours and they never get a break. They work in the state of Mass. What does the law say about getting breaks or lunches.

In Massachusetts, most hourly workers are entitled to a 30 minute unpaid break after 6 consecutive hours of work. However the break can be waived by the employee if the waiver is voluntary and the worker is compensated for the time. In other words, you can't let someone work through their 30 minute break and then not pay them for those 30 minutes.
