Legal Question in Disability Law in Massachusetts

disability discrimination in school sports

My son is a 10th grade student. He has been an outstanding all his life, but was suddenly stricken with Tourette's Syndrome. He was out of school for the majority of his 9th grade year, and is now on an I.E.P. and working together with a tutor to catch him up on his work. He had a terrible year in 9th grade with tics and anxiety. The medication that has been prescribed for him is finally taking effect, and his symptoms have calmed down considerably. He went through a terrbile ordeal over the past year and a half, and has fought back to regain his life. He was unable to complete his baseball tryouts last year due to his medical disability, but returned this year much stronger. Though the principal of the school was hesitant to allow him to try out, they did decide to allow him to. However, they never really gave him a fair chance. He did very well at the tryouts, proving to be better than many other athletes, but was cut from the team. The reasons given related to last year's problems. I firmly believe that they are discriminating against him because of his disorder. The disorder does not affect his playing ability. Do I have any legal recourse?
