Legal Question in Disability Law in Massachusetts

son is verbally assaulted by teacher

my 13yr old son suffers from ostogenesis imperfecta (brittle bones). He came home today from school upset when a teacher refused his entrance into an after school program he had been invited to by another teacher. He tried to explain to her about the other teacher and was told to get out. He then had to go to the other side of the school take the elevator to the 2nd floor find the teacher to help get him in to the program. After the 2 teachers talked the refusing teacher told the class of my son's peers that people in wheelchairs should not get anything extra and they should learn to do things themselves.. What recourse do I have with this teacher ??

Re: son is verbally assaulted by teacher

You can sue the teacher and the school committee for violation of your child's rights. I would make demand on the school committee/principal re reprimand of teacher. That may be all you want.
