Legal Question in Appeals and Writs in Massachusetts
civil court
I'm a contractor and was hired to remodle an attic. the home owner took me to civil court and won. I own a home and deeded the home to my girlfriend because i could not make the payments. a writ of attachment was filed under both of our names. will be able to refinance the home with a judgement kien on the property?

Re: civil court
You will not be able to refinance until the judgment is satisfied; any lender will require it be paid off prior to or out of the funds borrowed. Lenders do this to protect their loan since the judgment takes priority (first in time) to the refinance.
