Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Massachusetts

bankruptcy discharged still making car payments

I'ts been almost a year since my bankruptcy case was discharged.I did not reaffirm my car loan and have been making the usual payment for the past year on time.I owe 3 more years of payments. At the end of the 3 years will I be able to receive the title for this car or will I lose the car? my lawyer did not explain this to me so I could clearly understand it.

Re: bankruptcy discharged still making car payments

So long as you continue to make the payments in accordance with the contract, you should be able to keep the car. Once you've made all the payments, the title to the car should come back to you. If the loan company repossesses the car even though you are current or if it refuses to give you the title after you make all the payments, you probably would have a reason to sue the company.
