Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Massachusetts
Bankruptcy
I was granted a Chapter 7 bankruptcy in November 2004 but continue to get bills month after month from one of the creditors on the list. How do I stop them? I sent them a copy of the discharge back in Jan 05 and asked that they stop sending the bill.

Re: Bankruptcy
This is not an unusual problem. Many creditors violate the bankruptcy law that says that they can't try to collect the debt from you. To make it stop, you will have to go back to the bankruptcy court and ask the judge to enforce the bankruptcy law. If you used a lawyer back in 2004, go back to the same lawyer and ask for help. If your previous lawyer is not available for some reason, you can call me or another bankruptcy lawyer for help. Make sure that the lawyer you use has experience in bankruptcy law, as it is not the same as other courts. Best wishes, david baker
