Is a lein put on a property typically discharged after a person has declared bankruptcy?

You would need to file a motion to void a lien as part of the Bankrutpcy case. The lien has to impair the exemption.
There are special rules, you should seek the advice of an Atttorney prior to filing a Bankruptcy.
