Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Massachusetts

I had filed Chapter 13 in 2008. I just recently got a loan modification from my mortgage company decreasing my mortgage payment by $1000. They also took the money owed to them out of banruptcy. Will I now be converted to a chapter 7 or remain the same.

In order to convert a current Chapter 13 bankrupty into a Chapter 7, you would need to begin the process by filing a notice to convert your Chapter 13 into a Chapter 7. Before doing so I would suggest that you speak to a Bankruptcy Attorney with regards to the particulars of your case.
