Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Massachusetts
I need help filing bankruptcy...
i currently am not employed because i just got discharged from the Navy and am having trouble finding employment. Because of my finacial trouble, i am being forced to file for bankruptcy. I only have approximately 150 dllars left to my name and have been told that in order to file for bankruptcy i must come up with $1009. I have no posessions exept for my collection of cd/dvds that i've been colecting since age 8 and a minimal amount of clothing that i've been wearing since i was 12. Please let me know if there is any way that i can file bankruptcy without having to go to extreme measures to obtain money. Thanks for your help in advance.

Hi -
My name is Len Foy and I'm with the Law Offices of Gould & Gould, we handle bankruptcy cases in Massachusetts & NH.
The legal fee you've been quoted (not sure if that includes the filing fee or not) seems high, our firm offers competitively-priced, low-cost bankruptcy representation.
Feel free to contact me directly at (603) 434-3437, we'll discuss your case and I'll do whatever I can to offer you a better rate.
Regards and Good Luck -

The fee you were quoted is about the normal fee. However, if you are truly destitute and can show me proof, I would be willing to help you on a pro bono basis. You would have to provide me with a copy of your service papers, for example. Also you would have to pay the Court's fee of $209, which cannot be waived. Call me at 617-367-4260.
