Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Massachusetts

My husband and I have been married for 22 years...we have many issues, but can't afford a divorce. He is financially draining us due to lottery ticket addiction. Do I have any recourse beyond divorce to protect my credit and prevent bankruptcy?!??!

Money should not prevent you from getting a divorce if you both want to be divorced.

Fill out this Form with your soon-to-be ex-husband and bring it down to the Courthouse.

Ask for an Affidavit of Indigency to waive the filing fee.

Here is a sample of the form filled out:

If your husband does not want to be divorced, you should have a lawyer help you, and in that case, money would be an issue.

To protect your credit, make sure everything is in his name only, OR in your name only, and keep a very close eye on your credit report at:

By getting a free copy from a different Bureau every 4 months.
