Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Massachusetts

My kids home

I lost my Job but recently have found a new one. It took about 3 wks. We are now playing catch up. I am the second name on the morgage, can I take my name off and claim Bankruptcy and have them not take the house? I can't catch up. We were making by the skin of our teeth before, now it seem 3x worse. I work full time +, I need to find away to keep my kids home, thats all I want. Thanks for your time.

Your situation is just the kind for which Congress has enacted federal bankruptcy law.

With proper preparation, a co-signer on a home loan or mortgage can start a bankruptcy case and keep the home WITHOUT changing the title or the loan documents.
