Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Massachusetts

waiving court fee for bankruptcy

How much extra work and time is involved to file a waiver of the court's bankruptcy fees? My lawyer gets mad when I ask him to do this and says its not worth his time and effort. He told me to get another lawyer if I want to do this.

Re: waiving court fee for bankruptcy

I am sorry to hear that, as it takes about 10-15 minutes to file a computer generated form, all the information is already entered from the petition. I have a special rate for any client who meets the guidelines which is 150% of the the 2007 HHS guidelines. I prepare and file fee application at no cost to the client and am glad to be able to save them that money. 1 person family $15,315 2 = $20,535. Also, you may be eligible for a waiver for the course as well Credit Counseling and Financial Management if you fall within the guidelines.
