Insurance companies set a price based on what they believe the cost should be. If you agree to do it for the insurance coverage price, then you need to accept that price. However, you are not required to accept the insurance company price. You can bill the customer and have the insurance company reimburse the customer. However, make sure before you do the repair that the customer understands that he might not be completely reimbursed.

If they are simply taking a discount of your list price, raise your list price and provide for other retail discounts such as AAA card holders AARP card holders etc.

I would suggest that you become an approved provider with AAA, Commonwealth Auto, Peerless and the other larger insurers in the state and set a price with them you can live with.

Good luck
