Legal Question in Business Law in Massachusetts

about car rentals insurence

About two months ago I rented a car. My ex-boyfriend crashed the car. And now the rental company wants me to pay for the rental of the car. The car is worth 24,000 dollars. But he was at fault. I wasnt in the car at the time of the accident. He was on the contact as an additional driver. Is there a way that he can held reponsible for the car. And plus at the time of the contact agreement. There was no policy statments of what kind of insurence I was taken out on the car only abravtion. So I was unclear of what it was I taken out. I took out collison insurence on the car. and that was all. I just want to know if there is a way to hold the additional driver responblie for this. and Is it legal for the rental place not to post the car insurence policy?

Thank You

Re: about car rentals insurence

This sounds like a real mess, and no lawyer is going to be able to advise you on how to get out of it without reviewing the actual contracts involved. You should be able to find a lawyer in your area by calling your local (county) bar association referral service.

You should review the lease agreement, and you may also be covered by your own car insurance. you may also be covered by an inusurer, depending on the credit card that you used.

In all, take all the documents, as stated, and see an attorney.

should you have any questions, please email or call me.
