Legal Question in Business Law in Massachusetts

Drafting Services

I am drafting plans for people who want additions to their homes. I am not an engineer nor am I a designer. All I do is the plans required by the town in order for the customer to get a building permit. I use the Mass Building Codes as my guide and the contractor and carpenter helps me also. What should my contract look like and should I be a LLC. What else do I need to do to become legal?

Re: Drafting Services

First: Yes, you should be incorporated; the businesss you are engaged in carries very high potential liability. Second, your engagement contracts need to be very specific and limited since you are nto an engineer or architect. Please contact me if you wish to discuss the details of this or any other aspect of your business.

Best of luck!
