What is the effect on contracts signed by a corporation after it changes its corporate name? do all legal documents need redrawing to show the new name?

There would generally be no legal effect to contracts signed before the name change. No redrawing in necessary. Of course all parties should be given notice of the name change and future contracts should be in the new name.
