Legal Question in Business Law in Massachusetts
I was fired from my job and not allowed to log out of my laptop which i had my personal im and email on. Now my ex boss is logging in to my emails and reading my instant messages from prospective employers. Can she do that? I live in Massachusetts but i was working in New Hampshire

Re: email
Because it owns the computer and all data on it, the employer can read any and all files left there. However, this does NOT permit access to servers not owned by the corporation, so online messaging or Web mail access would be wrongful.

Re: email
Apparently it is not your laptop. Otherwise, your employer would not have it. Unless, I am missing something.
