Legal Question in Business Law in Massachusetts

employee hours

I was recently hired with a small company. I was told I would work a 40 hour week at 100% salary. Literally, days after my employment was confirmed my hours got cut to a 32 hour work week week, my salary cut to 80%. Is this legal? Is there any law that says employers can/cannot cut hours and pay within that short of a time period, without notice?

Re: employee hours

promises are only worth the paper they are written on. Are there any contracts, or are you an employee-at-will?

As an at-will employee, your employer can do anything he wants. If you quit, and you progably should, you will be entitled to unemployment insurance.
