Extra paycheck

I recently did some summer school work for my local school district. upon not

being paid, I called to find out why. The personal in charge of submitting

hours said he had forgotten to do so, but not to worry, he just did it. He was

mistaken, and ended up submitting them twice. payroll is now threatening to

take me to court if I do not pay them back within two weeks. Am I obligated

to fix their mistake on their timetable? How long do I legally have to fix this?

What about the man who made the error? Is he responsible in any way?

You are not entitled to be paid twice no matter whose mistake it is!
