Legal Question in Business Law in Massachusetts
Does FMLA apply to small business
I work for a small dental practice, only 4 employees, My grandmother passed away 2 weeks ago and my employer let me off work for the services. This weekend my Aunt passed away. I requested 3 days off for services and to transport people to the airport. My employer granted 2 of the 3 days. Can he deny me the 3rd day?

Re: Does FMLA apply to small business
You are asking for legal advice for a specific situation, which is not possible to provide on a forum like this.
This forum is more appropriate for general responses, such as the fact that the FMLA is directed towards larger employers, and there are many fewer protections for employees of smaller firms, in part because of the impact of absences on the smaller firms.
Some small employers may not grant any days off.
