Legal Question in Business Law in Massachusetts
Gaming website that steals from its customers.
I am a member of worldwinner, which is a gaming website. The site promises fairness in matching, a secure system and all of the above stuff that businesses promise their customers.
The site is often times breached and littered with cheaters who make programs in order to play the games that are available. When gamers report these people as cheaters, the site administrators wait months and even years before banning these people.
In the meantime these cheaters have made off with thousands of hardworking dollars from innocent gamers, who did nothing but trust in the fairness and the sites security as promised in their statement. When a person is banned and those who were cheated out of their money ask for explanations, we are never given any.Not to mention we are never refunded our rightful prize winnings, or our entry fee's for that matter. This kind of money adds up and many gamers feel like they are being swindled by this company because not only are they allowing cheaters to take our money, but once they ban cheaters, they keep the money that the cheaters have made and never refund us.
Do we have a case to sue for money that is owed to us, but was not refunded, or compensated in any kind of way?

Sure, you have ways of getting after the website. However, you would - no doubt - end up paying far more in legal fees than you would ever recover. Best thing to do would simply be to terminate your membership. Hope this helps.
Re: Gaming website that steals from its customers.
This was recently a featured story on 60 Minutes. The problem as highlighted in that expose is that most of these gaming sites are off-shore (not located in US territory), and using them is technically illegal in the US. Therefore, if this is the case with your site, you will probably find it impossible to bring legal actions for their wrongdoing. See the 60 Minutes piece, however, as to alternative ways to pressure the sites to return stolen funds.

It depends upon the specific terms and conditions of your agreement with the website. Please feel free to contact me direct;))
