Legal Question in Business Law in Massachusetts

I own a gas station and a company who gets gas from my business hasn't paid me the $10000 bill. They gave me a check for $8,000 and refused to pay the remaining balance. I told them they owe me more than $8000 so they stopped the check. What do I do in this case?

The simple approach is 2 phased:

If you got the time and the buyer is a business, you could send them a 93A letter of demand.

Or you could file an action in district court, and seek an ex-parte lien.
