Legal Question in Business Law in Massachusetts
Harassment by employer
I live in MA. I was fired recently for insubordination. I was harassed and verbally abused repeatedly while working for this company. The company has less than 100 employees and does not have an HR department, I had no recourse because the persons harassing me were the ones in charge. I am concerned for the other employees, is there anything I can do to get rid of the people causing this problem? The company is owned by 6 partners, now that I am unemployed, can I write to them or will this be held against me? Am I allowed to contact the other employees at the work place or do I have to contact them at home? I want this person's job, the company is being brought down, I am not the only one who was harassed. What about a company that serves alcohol on the premises? This company serves alcohol to employees (free) before 5pm - no one monitors the amount being consumed.

Re: Harassment by employer
Massachusetts law closely governs harassment in the workplace, the rights of wrongfully terminated employees, and the options available post-termination if legally impermissible. Any such claims must be carefully made according to strict procedural requirments imposed by Massachusetts statute.
