Legal clarification (Urgent)

If a company goes for a merger and contract with one of its clients is not assignable what would it effect be?

The buying company steps into the the shoes of the selling company, unless the contract says something to the contrary.

You have to look carefully at the language of the contract. A Merger is not necessarily an assignment. Also, it will depend on the assignment restrictions.
