Assuming you were not at fault, you can make a claim for loss of income. You need to be able to document it. Assuming the other side has an insurance company, and depending upon your own insurance, if you are a cab co you have very limited coverage for liability and if you are a Limo/car service then you have a more standard coverage.
You should contact an attorney or an experienced private claims adjuster if the amount involved is reasonably significant and you are not getting cooperatin from your own or the othersides insurer.
Your insurance agrent should be able to help you.
Re: motor vehicle accident
I agree with Mr. Roth. I assume you are writing because either you are unsure about what to do, or what you have tried to do is not succeeding. Insurance companies are quick to collect your money, but slower to pay. It does not sound like your insured separetly for problems related to your business' inability to work. There are professional adjusters and other folks who can assess the costs to you and your business. You should strongly consider hiring such a professional. If your insurance company is not responsive or you think that there is something amiss, you can send them a letter of demand seeking a resolution of this dispute. You also have the option of filing civil suit against the person who struck your vehicle.
