Non-compete contracts are generally enforceable if they are reasonable in scope. To determine if your non-compete contract is likely to be enforceable, take it to an employment lawyer today. Good luck!

I agree with Attornet Vaughn-Martel. An attorney will need to review the agreement and learn more of the facts in order to give an opinion. Feel free to call me tomorrow.

You need to have the agreement reviewed by an attorney. Moreover, he will need to know the circumstances as to when you signed the agreement. While non-competes are generally enforceable if reasonable, they are not supposed to be used to stop an employee from being employed altogether.

Some companies have every employee sign non-competes. However, there needs to be a certain level of position as well as other aspects of the employment to be enforceable. Notwithstanding that you cannot use confidential information of your employer, including customer lists etc.

Please feel free to contact me.

As a Franchise Attorney I can say the following. To be enforceable, a noncompete must be reasonable in time, geographic scope and prohibited activities. Consult with a good business or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.
