Legal Question in Business Law in Massachusetts
Non-Compete Contracts
I was recently terminated by my company due declining sales in the overall market. My employment contract has a non-compete that was written based on and is stated in the contract on California law.
With the recent ruling in California Supreme court that non compete contracts are invalid, does this exempt my non compete.

Re: Non-Compete Contracts
It would depend on the wording of both your non-compete agreement and the California Supreme Court Ruling to which you refer and whether that ruling was stated to be retroactive or prospective only (i.e. only applicable to future non-compete agreements). Take both to an attorney for review.
