Payroll
My old employer is still depositing checks into my account. If I inform them, am i held accountable for the money they deposited? Can they take the money back?

Re: Payroll
Unless I am misreading your post, the former employer is MISTAKENLY continuing to deposit paychecks directly into your account, in which event you should inform the employer promptly -- the money isn't yours, and the employer will doubtless claim it back when the mistake is eventually discovered. Far better to be forthright about the situation (and any reference from this former employer will certainly reflect how you handle this issue).
Best wishes,

Re: Payroll
More information is necessary to adequately address the issue you have raised and frame a response. Has your former employer given you a reason for the continued deposits? Under certain circumstances, these deposits could be considered a gift. However, it is possible that your former employer could treat these deposits and income to you and either give you a 1099 or W-2.
