Legal Question in Business Law in Massachusetts
Refund policy
I ran a small business from home where in I would do some prospecting and recruiting for women in the direct sales business, mainly avon. On my website it clearly states, no refunds and no guarentees. I had a former customer call my cell phone leaving a threatening message about showing up on my doorstep for a refund of $40. DO i owe her a refund if in fact it states no refunds on my site?

Re: Refund policy
It would depend on why she is asking for the refund. If the refund is for returning unwanted merchandise, you can provide for a credit against future purchases. If it is due to something such as the failure to deliver the product or defective product, you may have to give a refund.
It is not worth getting in a snit over $40.00, if she goes to small claims court, apart from your time and effort, if you lose, you will have to pay her filing fees.
if she simply wants a refund because she is dissatisfied, that is something different. You need to make more of a business decision than a legal one here.
