Legal Question in Business Law in Massachusetts

Relocation fight?

In September 2008, an employment recruiter had contacted me about a position with a pharma company in Massachusets. Long story short, in October 2008, I took the position. For the past 3 months I had been away from my family (seeing them 2 weekends a month). 3 weeks ago we decided as a family to make the permenant move to MA. Our home in GA is now vacant (and still for sale) and we are residing in an apartment until it does indeed sell. Now that we (as a family) are finally setteling in to our new habitation, my company annonced downsizing and I was let go. After leaving stable employment in GA for a possible better career, I uprooted my life and family, now to be left high and dry. The company announced that they had began the downsizing implementation in 4Q2008 and will complete it in 1Q2009. I feel that if they had known about downsizing when I was hired, why did they hire me and pull me from my previous employer? I am curious if I have a legal fight for anything?
