Legal Question in Business Law in Massachusetts

Responding to a Clerk Magistrate and Signature on a Summons

Question # 1

when responding in writing to a clerk magistrate in a civil case, does the response need to be by a member of the MASS Bar or can I file this myself?

Question # 2

In a civil case does a lawyer need to sign the actual complaint or summons that is sent to the defendant. The summons only includes the attorney name phone number and address.

I was under the impression that a signature is required to make it a legal document

If you are or were represented by counsel who has ot withdrawn s/he has to sign. If you are pro se, representing yourserlf, you sign. If still confused, call the clerk of courts-they are very helpful
