Legal Question in Business Law in Massachusetts
restaurant reservations
Is it legal to ask someone for their
credit card number when they just
want to make a reservation for a
table at a restaurant? I am offended
by this tactic.

Re: restaurant reservations
I would be too. Don't patronize them and tell them why. Tell them your friends will have a similar reaction...

Restaurant reservations/credit card information.
It is not a question of legality, as much as it is a question of privacy.
As a personal matter, I would be offended. You should ask the restaurant the reason for this.
You can also call your particular credit card carrier and ask them about their policy.
Let me know what happens.
