Legal Question in Business Law in Massachusetts

If you have to sign a contract in order to get a job, isn't the contract invalid because your signature is coerced?

"State and federal laws require contracts to be entered into "knowingly" and "willingly" by all parties." Surely it is not entered into willingly if you have to sign it.

No. The agreement you signed was a condition of the job offer.

If you were required to sign the contract after beginning employment-say a week or more after starting work then it may not be enforceable.

I agree with attorney Roth. You have a total misunderstanding of contract law. If you do not want the job, no one is forcing you to sign the contract. You are not being coerced. This is normal contract law and employment law.

Whoever made you believe that this is coerced, ignore that person completely.
