I own a small gift shoppe along with my sister, we have a specific d�cor-beach and nautical home d�cor. another business two doors down has stolen our ideas, tries to mimic us and then claims we are selling alike items and wants us to stop. does another business have the right to tell another business what they can and can not sell. I am afraid the management company for the shops where we are located may not be aware of the law

Unless your lease prohibits you from selling certain kinds of items, management of the property does not have the right to prohibit you from selling anything you can legally sell. Moreover, the other shop is engaging in a deceptive and unfair business practice by copying your ideas and seeking to stop you from selling certain kinds of items.

I would suggest you speak with an attorney in detail about what is going on and it may be helpful to have the attorney send a letter to the other store and the Management Company after he reviews your lease. Your management company might have violated your lease by renting to another store seeking to duplicate your shop's products and sale concepts.
