Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Massachusetts

Personal Image Rights

I appeared at a public event last year and my speech was videotaped by a local media outlet and posted to YouTube (this is not a problem).

A group is now using this video to promote an event they will be holding, giving people the impression that this year's event is run by the same organizers.

I have asked them to remove the video of me speaking from their site but have received no answer.

Do I have any legal rights in regards to asking them to remove the video?

Re: Personal Image Rights

You may have the right to demand that this organization cease and desist from misappropriating your image for financial gain. It may take correspondence from an attorney to get their attention.

If they still do not take it down, you have the right to seek an injunction and damages in court.
