Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Massachusetts

What rights do I have during a deposition?

In Massacusetts if I've been called to give a deposition what rights do I have?

What sort of answers should I give if the event happened a long time ago and I can't be 100% sure of the answer?

Am I elligible for any reimbursement for travel or missed work?

Is it possible to request a different day to give the deposition?

I've heard that I get 30 days to review the deposition before approving it, is this true?

Re: What rights do I have during a deposition?

You do not have to attend if you did not receive a subpoena. Subpoena's are not valid beyound a certain amount of miles from the place of issue. Answer questions truthfully -if you don't remember, you don't remember. If the questions bring back your memory, you can indicate this to the examiner and tell her you want to answer a previous question becuase you now remember the facts. You may request a change in the date. You may request reimbursement. You do generally have 30 days to review your testimony, you can ask for more time at the deposition.
