Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Massachusetts
Salary Disclosure
Situation - A non-union contractor working in a union shop has their salary revealed to co-workers as part of an on-going battle between the union and the employer.
Question - If this creates a ''hostile'' work environment giving the contractor no choice but to leave the position is there any legal recourse against the individual who released the information or even the company for allowing this information to be released?

Re: Salary Disclosure
If the information is your salary, you may have a claim for invasion of privacy, unless government contract where salaries are public records. Even if harassment occurs, since it is not discriminatory under the law, there is no remedy.
