shoplifting

i got caught shoplifting at macys i had the merchandise in my bag however before i got caught i put it back and did not leave the store before i was caught, should i pay the 500 dollar fine?

It sounds like you did not actually commit a crime. You should speak with an attorney who does criminal defense.
