Legal Question in Technology Law in Massachusetts

So I created a website that can send emails from anyone to anyone. I have not posted it yet, worrying that there might be consequences if I do. Am I responsible if people send fake emails from the site? Are there any other possible legal problems I could suffer if I were to post it? If so, What? Thanks in advance.

A great deal more detail is needed to be able to give you an accurate answer.

however, the short answer is maybe.

If someone used it to send child pornography you could be violating both Federal and State Law; if someone used to hide their true identity and used it as a way to scam people or other criminal behavior, you could be depending on how the email works included in any lawsuit or criminal investigation.

It depends on what the email can send. If like a news paper you can only send their articles with a message, then probably not.

What is the purpose of the website and what can people send?

How does it work?

Those things are critical to giving you a proper educated response.
