Legal Question in Technology Law in Massachusetts
About a month ago the police showed up at my house with a search warrant and seized my computer. They told me that someone had been sending one of my friend's relatives threatening emails, and that they sent a subpoena to the email provider and then to my ISP, which gave them my IP address and physical address, respectively. I haven't been arrested or charged with a crime, but is there a possibility I could still be arrested/charged even if the police don't find anything incriminating on my computer?

This is a criminal law question. I would contact a criminal attorney as soon as possible for the answer as to how to best protect myself.
The issue is one of reasonable proof of a crime. If they find nothing on the computer that may not be the end of it.
I am not a criminal attorney, but if you need a referral I can recommend someone.
