Legal Question in Technology Law in Massachusetts

Hi there,

This is a very personal and embarrassing matter, but I need a legal answer.

I live in MA, but have a permanent address in CT. An ex-fling from MA posted dozens of intimate pictures I had sent him via text during our time together online. He used my real name on the pictures, and these now come up during a Google search of my name. I am very worried about employment, grad school admissions, and just the personal humiliation of friends and acquaintances being able to see these images.

Is this considered revenge porn? Do I have any recourse against him, or is he simply "in the clear" because he lives in MA, where I was able to find no revenge porn law on the books? Is he legally allowed to post pornographic images of me that I consensually sent him? Do I have any recourse because I have a permanent address in CT and CT does have a revenge porn law? Please advise.

Google will ordinarily remove any such links; there have been lots of these cases and Google takes them seriously. Likewise, the site where the photos are being hosted will also probably be receptive to a take-down request. Glad to help in any way needed, best wishes, LDWG
